FBI files lawsuit against Twitter, Facebook for failing to take down pro-ISIS content

The FBI is filing a lawsuit against Facebook, Twitter and Google for failing “to take down the content” of a pro-ISIL propaganda group and a number of other anti-ISIS groups.
The lawsuit, filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the District of Columbia, accuses Facebook, Google and Twitter of failing to “take down the pro-terrorist content and videos” of the American Civil Liberties Union, the Council on American-Islamic Relations, and the Council for American Islamic Relations of providing a platform to pro-Islamic State propaganda on their platforms.
“The Defendants have failed to take action to prevent, suppress, or otherwise protect the public from pro- terrorist content and other material that the Defendants created, promoted, distributed, and distributed for the purpose of inciting violence,” the lawsuit said.
“These Defendants are responsible for failing in their duty to take appropriate action to take these dangerous content off their platforms.”
Facebook and Twitter are the latest technology firms to come under fire for not taking down pro
