Montana County Sheriff Tom Kelly said the three people were killed in a crash that happened Wednesday morning at a home in the 800 block of Rt. 10 South.
Kelly said the homeowner was driving a pickup truck and the truck struck the three teens.
The driver was killed and the four teens were not injured.
“We are doing a thorough investigation and are looking at every aspect of this,” Kelly said.
“We don’t have any other information on the incident, but at this time we are looking into all of the possibilities.”
Kelly said investigators are looking for witnesses to the crash and the suspects.
He said the suspects are described as a white man, between 30 and 40 years old, around 6 feet tall and weighing around 170 pounds with short, brown hair.
Kelly added that investigators do not believe there is any connection between the crash, or any other crime that took place in the area.
“I have seen this in the past where there’s a crime in one place, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s going to happen again,” he said.
Kelly also said there are a number of vehicles that were involved in the crash.
He added that they are still looking for more information.
Authorities say they are not sure if the driver was under the influence or under the age of 21.
Kelly said he does not believe anyone was impaired and that there are witnesses that may have witnessed the crash but have not come forward.
